The Lord Has A Handle on Our Lives
The Lord is always working His plan and that includes what will happen to us. In a general sense, He knows how long our lives will last and in a more specific sense, what our lives will be made up of. This would include such items as opportunities for us to grow closer to Him and opportunities to guide others to Him.
Psalms 139:16 (NASB)
[16] Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
This passage in the Psalms is at the same time a comfort and sobering thought about the Lord. He knows the end from the beginning.
