Thoughts on being retired for more than four years
Normally, I would not be so inclined to talk about myself. But, I have been retired for over four years now and I have occupied my "forever home" in this CCRC retirement community for over 3 and a half years. I can certainly say that I enjoy being retired and I also have settled into a pattern; although it changes often enough to not become stale. I am still not completely settled into a pattern with my many hobbies. This seems to be one of the biggest ilks that I have. So lets see what to make of my hobbies at this time:
- I am starting to get back into Bible study: mostly from reviewing books that I have in my library, reading commentaries on my iPad, and simply reading passages in scripture and thinking about them.
- I have thought about writing a book about marriage: this would be a Bible study of marriage and what it means, what to do, etc.
- I am really into Genealogy: I now head up the Genealogy Club here in the community and it keeps me hopping to get meetings set up as well as my own personal genealogy endeavors which have led to my joining the Sons of the American Revolution
- I am sort of keeping up with my HomeLab: I keep making changes to what I am doing, never stopping to complete what I have started - this needs to be dealt with
- I am keeping up a budget for our finances: this is the item that receives the most attention from me on a day or every other day basis
