The Word of God is Not Imprisoned

Is was reading a passage in 1st Timothy this morning that said "the Word of God is not imprisoned." That kind of struck me out of the blue. What Paul was telling Timothy was that even though he was in prison for his faith, the word of God was still being preached. God was not sitting idly by. In other words, the Word of God will get out no matter what happens. The passage is as follows:

[I Tim 2:8] Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, [9] *for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. [10] For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory. [11] It is a trustworthy statement:
For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
[12] If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we *deny Him, He also will deny us;
[13] If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Paul knew that God would not let His word lie dormant just because some of His chief preachers were stopped by human hands. That is the way it is sometimes, even when unrest happens like overseas in the Middle East, God will not let His Word lie dormant. He will always find part of His remnant able and willing to fill in the gap. This was what drove Paul to keep on keeping on. He knew that the Word would go out; that and the ever present salvation that Christ Jesus has obtained for us. He is faithful.
