Long Sabbatical - Now I Am Back
I have been away from this blog for too long. What has happened over the last two years is that my focus changed and I started concentrating on lessons that I was going to teach in my Sunday School class. As of last weekend that is now over. I have gone to my church for 39 years and out of those 39 years I have taught Sunday School for over 20 years. It is time for others to take over.
The problem is, my concentration has been on getting the lessons setup for the next Sunday. I have discovered that my quiet time has been altered and I have not spent time in the Word to refresh myself. That is evident because of the stress that I have had putting lessons together. I have literally obsessed over what is going to be said. But lately the lessons have been haphazard and have not had the same effort put into them as what I had before. They were good (at least that is what everyone said) but I felt that they were missing a lot. In addition, the obsession has gotten to me. Now it is time to come to grips with myself and study the Word the way that I need to study the Word. So this is a declaration that I will be back with more emphasis on quiet time.
